How to Host a CrossIn Feburary 2016 27,

In Feburary 2016 27,
Teens can be notoriously absentminded when it comes to times and places, so provide plenty of reminders about the dinner. Simple one-page fliers, written by hand and giving directions to your house, are the first step; hand them out at a practice a few days before the dinner. Use large letters with bold print and a simple heading, such as, 'Team dinner on Thursday,' so the fliers are easily to read at a glance. Send tweets and online posts the day before and the day of the gathering to ensure everyone will attend.
Set the Stage
A simple banner that says 'Go Team' is the only decoration you need. Organize your space to accommodate groups of teens. Include a buffet setup on your kitchen counters if room allows and allocate some seating at your dining room table; if your kitchen is small, set the buffet on the dining table. In either case, place folding chairs and TV trays in small clusters around the room, not in straight lines. Designate a coffee table as an eating space for teens to sit around on the floor, and place large pillows on the floor around the table.
Give 'Em Carbs
Spaghetti, garlic bread and salad with assorted vegetables for runners to add themselves make up a traditional pre-meet dinner, with easy-to-serve brownies, cookies or cupcakes for dessert. Plan on about 1 pound of pasta for every five to six people, and provide both vegetarian and meat sauces with about 1/2 to 3/4 cup per serving. Lasagna or baked potatoes with chili for topping provide good alternatives to spaghetti. For drinks, serve lemonade, sports drinks and ice water with lemon slices.
Encourage Socializing
Instead of leading games or competitions, ask students to help with dinner preparations and with cleanup at the end of the dinner -- they'll talk to each other over the chopping board and at the stove. Provide low-key activities that encourage talking, including asking each team member to say what she likes most about the cross-country team, or providing a list of questions for each person to answer aloud, such as, 'Describe your most embarrassing moment,' or 'Name your favorite movie and explain why you like it.'

How to Sell Server SpaceIn Feburary 2016 23,

In Feburary 2016 23,
Set up your web server. You can either build one, purchase one, or rent space on an existing web server. Next you will need to insure the server is connected to a high speed internet connection with a dedicated ip address. Then purchase a domain name and configure name servers such as ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com. This will allow those buying web server space from you to point their domains to your web server. Ensure the necessary programs and software are installed, such as the Linux Operating System, Apache Server software, PHP programming environment, and MySQL databases.
Select your administration software. One of the most automatic and easy to use web server administration software is the combination of cPanel and Web Host Manger (WHM). This will allow you to quickly and easily setup new web sites on your server, perform administrative tasks, as well as give limited control and configuration to your customers.
Set up hosting packages. You should create different price points for different packages which include different features and level of storage space and bandwidth. This can be easily done with WHM. Make sure to assign the correct package when setting up a new site for a customer. Changes or upgrades can be easily made as well.
Create a web site to advertise, display the pricing and details of each package, and to take credit card orders is an effective and helpful way to bring in new customers. Create language about support, terms of conditions, ways to order, information about your company, and more.
Set up a PayPal account to accept credit card payments. One of the most cost effective and easiest ways to accept recurring monthly billing through credit cards is with PayPal subscriptions. Creating a PayPal account is free with a 3 to 5 percent fee charged to each order. PayPal is a commonly used method and allows for purchase with a PayPal account, credit card, or debit card. When configured correctly the order will automatically bill each month, year, or whatever period you set up. You can easily email an invoice with a payment link or embed the payment link into your web site.
Create or rent a daily backup solution so that your data and those of your clients are protected from any viruses, hacker attempts, or hardware or software failures. Explain your backup policy to your customers in your terms of agreement and determine any potential problems or limitations ahead of time.
Set up a fee structure for additional services. This includes advanced support, site or data restoration, custom coding, custom configuration, web design, and more. By offering these additional services you can increase your income and continue to meet the needs of your customers.

How to Edit Wordpress ThemesIn Feburary 2016 18,

In Feburary 2016 18,
If you host your own Wordpress.org Blog then you will have complete access to edit and customize your Wordpress Themes. However, if you have a free blog application through Wordpress.com then you will have limited blog editing capability. Wordpress.org is for self hosted users which means that you pay for your own blog domain name and hosting. The benefit to setting up your own self hosted blog is that you have complete control of how your blog looks. Wordpress.com users can only choose their blog theme, they can't customize them.
To customize your Wordpress.org blogging application you will want to log in to your blog admin panel by going to www.yourblog.com/wp-admin - use the user name and password you setup when you first installed your blog and login to the admin area. Once inside the admin section of the blog you will want to go to the Appearance tab on the left hand side of the page on click on Appearance to drop down the options unless it is already opened then you just want to click on Editor.
From the Editor page you have the ability to edit any Wordpress themes you have uploaded to your server. On the right side of the page are different pages that you can customize or modify to meet your blogging needs. The most common files you can edit are the style sheet, header, footer, main index or home, archives, search, comments, pages, single page, theme functions, and sidebar.
If you want to change the color of your blog or alter images then you will want to do so using the Cascading Style Sheet (CSS). Most of the other files are a combination of advanced HTML and PHP so you will have to know how to read some code before attempting to edit a Wordpress theme. This is where you can change how your blog looks and decide what type of layout you would like to have. Once you learn what you would like to add or subtract from your WP blog you will most likely use this editing section to create a custom design that will set your blog apart from other bloggers.

How to set up a webcam (hosted and using FTP)In Feburary 2016 10,

In Feburary 2016 10,
PURCHASE A WEB CAM:I described that you could use a PnP (Plug and Play) webcam in my first article, but for this operation, you will probably want to consider a little better web cam. You can still use a PnP camera at first, but you will want to upgrade as time goes on. I would recommend the use of the $50 - $70 Logitech webcams for this operation.
INSTALL THE WEBCAM SOFTWARE:Once you have your camera, install the software that comes with it. READ the instructions for installing your webcam onto your local computer. Troubleshoot as needed for setup.
FTP DELIVERY SYSTEM OVERVIEW: In my basic webcam set up article, I discussed the use of a free hosting provider or the use of Yahoo, AOL, MSN, or SKYPE. However if you have your own webserver, there are two main ways to deliver your webcam content to your website and server:1) FTP (File Transfer Protocol) to your website and your webserver that you host with. We will discuss this option in this article. 2) Set up an in-house server that uses webcam software to stream your images. I am not going to discuss this option in this article.
DOWNLOAD WEBCAM FTP SOFTWARE:This method assumes that you know how to use an FTP program to publish your website already. There is a lot of free software out there that you can use to set up an FTP link to your hosting provider for your webcam. A few webcams come with free webcam software that you can also use. I recommened that you look into using Webcam32, (trial version, then purchase) TinCam (trial version and purchase) or ConquerCam (trial version and purchase). You can also do a Google search for other software programs available and free software available.Which ever one you decide to use, download it and install it on your computer. Set up your webcam as instructed in the directions of the software.
SET UP YOUR WEBCAM FTP ACCOUNT:Alright, so now we will set up the FTP information so that your images and video can get online! Depending on the software you downloaded, you may have a built-in web page builder or you will have to create a video wrapper on your web page. I will not explain that here, so you can look this up on Google. You will need to have a basic knowledge of html to understand how to do this. Build a test web page for this purpose on your site.
TEST THE CAMERA:Once you have set up your FTP account, you can now test the WebCam and see if it is saving data out to your FTP account and your test webpage. Congratulations if it is working correctly, if not, check your code on your HTML page, and also check the FTP information you provided to the software.

How to Upload a Dreamweaver Website Into Go Daddy HostingIn Feburary 2016 06,

In Feburary 2016 06,
Find the Host Name, FTP User Name and FTP Password you created when you opened your Go Daddy hosting account. You would have written this information down when you opened your account.
Open Dreamweaver. Go to 'Site' and then 'Manage Sites.'
Pick your website from the list given in the Manage Sites dialog box or click 'New' if you haven't started your website yet.
Choose 'Add New Server' when the setup window opens. Enter a name for your connection, something like 'Go Daddy' or your domain name would be easy to identify, but any name is OK.
Click 'FTP' from the connection menu and enter the FTP User Name and FTP Password you created with Go Daddy. Check the 'Save' box if you want Dreamweaver to remember your login information.
Type your domain name in the FTP box. Click the 'Test' button to confirm the connection. Leave any other fields blank or default unless you've set up special port or proxy settings in your home network or with Go Daddy.
Check 'Automatically upload files to server on save' if you want Dreamweaver to update your website every time you save a page.
Save the connection by clicking 'Save' and go to 'Edit,' then 'Preferences' in Windows. If you're using a Mac, click 'Dreamweaver' and then 'Preferences.'
Select your website from the list on the left and choose your upload settings. Establish whether the FTP connection will time out or terminate after a specified number of minutes. You can also set Dreamweaver to 'Prompt Before Moving Files on Server' and 'Save Files Before Putting.' Experiment until you find the settings that work for you.
