If your website is content driven, it may be based in a CMS such as WordPress or Joomla. If you are unsure of this, ask the person who designed your website. To initiate changes to content on a CMS-based website, you log in to your site's administrative panel. The administrative panel offers buttons for various types of content management. After you log in, you can add, delete or edit posts and articles on your site. You can also use a CMS to change some of the other parameters of your site. For example, if your site uses WordPress, you can install a different theme to change the layout of the site, and you can install plugins to change some aspects of your site's functionality.
Changing the Content and Functionality of Your Website
If you need to edit the structure or content of your website and your site does not use a CMS, you must edit the actual files on your site. Use caution if you are implementing HTML, PHP or JavaScript for the first time. If you are not confident in your Web-development skills, the changes you make directly to code could impair the functionality of your website. In such a case, a WYSIWYG editor can be useful. WYSIWYG editors display the changes to your website as you make them, and you drag elements around rather than alter the page code in a text editor.
Changing the Visual Style of Your Website
Most of the visual flair of your website is contained in one or more Cascading Style Sheets files. These files tell the HTML of your site where to position certain elements, how to color the background and what font to use. By editing the CSS files, you change the stylistic aspects of a page. If you rename a CSS file, you must make sure that the applicable HTML files link to the renamed version of the file. This link is in the HTML document's
section. With a WYSIWYG editor, you can confidently make these changes if you are not comfortable making them to your site's code.
Uploading Files to Your Website
After you make changes to your site's code, upload the files to your hosting server for the changes to take effect. If the changes are minor, you may want to download a copy of the file onto your local computer, edit that and then return it to the server. For example, if you want to change one line in your website's index.html file, download it from the server first to make sure that you are modifying the most current version of the file. After you make the changes, upload the file to the server, making sure to overwrite the old one. You accomplish these transfers using a File Transfer Protocol client. An FTP client connects your computer to a remote server for the exchange of files.

InterWorx Control Panel Vs. CPanelIn Feburary 2016 27,
In Feburary 2016 27,
Each service actually has two control panels. If you are running a hosting service, you get access to the server administration panel when you purchase InterWorx or cPanel. The InterWorx server control panel is NodeWorx. The cPanel control panel for the Web host is WebHost Manager. Website owners do not buy cPanel or InterWorx. Rather, they choose a Web host that provides one of these control panels. These website owners then get access to either the cPanel website control panel or InterWorx's SiteWorx.
Common Features
For Web hosts, common features found in both programs include the ability to create customized hosting packages for website owners, creation and management of new users, domain management, DNS management and the ability to offer reseller hosting.Website owners will find many of the same features in their control panels. Examples include email accounts, website statistics, subdomains, a file editor for editing in plain text and HTML, a file manager, FTP accounts for uploading files to websites, password protection for your website pages and backup options in case you lose data. Both control panels also provide for add-on domains, which are domains hosted under the same hosting package to save money. Both control panels also support cron jobs, PHP, MySQL and SSL.
Added Features
Each control panel offers a few things not provided by its competitor. For example, cPanel has FrontPage extensions, which allow you to directly upload files from FrontPage to your website. The cPanel product also provides several video tutorials for website owners. Services providing hosting for gaming sites can also choose the cPanel Game Server. Web hosts using Windows servers instead of Linux can choose cPanel's Enkompass control panel. InterWorx integrates the APF iptables firewall system for Web hosts. Web hosts can also use InterWorx to import entire domains previously hosted in cPanel, InterWorx or other control panels.Installation programs simplify the process of building a website, blog or similar features. To help website owners, cPanel uses the Fantastico Deluxe installation program, while InterWorx uses SimpleScripts. You can compare the list of available programs from these installation services to see which one you prefer.
Languages
Website owners in some countries may prefer a control panel due to language availability. At the time of publication, both services offer versions in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German and French. However, cPanel offers Iberian Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, as well. Other languages that only cPanel offers include Arabic, Hindi, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, Russian and Chinese. However, only InterWorx offers Slovak, Hungarian, Italian, Turkish, Swedish and Czech.
Price
As of the time of publication, the InterWorx monthly license is about $25, and the yearly license is about $250. Support is included, but you must pay $50 for installation. Conversely, the cPanel yearly license is about $400, which includes installation and support. For an additional $200 per installation per year, you can get VPS Optimized2, which enhances performance while reducing memory usage. There is no cPanel monthly license. You can also get InterWorx for life for about $300. However, support ceases on that license after the first six months. An additional six months of support is available for $50. Both companies have authorized resellers or distributors. In that case, the price varies.

How to Download Free Movie TrailersIn Feburary 2016 14,
In Feburary 2016 14,
Visit a movie's official website. If the movie is a new release, you can do a search for the film, and the official site should be easy to find. For older movies, try visiting the official website of the production company that owns the rights to the film.
Click the link to download the movie's trailer. Most trailers come in several resolutions; note that HD trailers can be large files that may take a few minutes to download if your Internet speed is slow.Know that if you wish to later upload the trailer to a blog or other personal website, you must get permission from the production company. Although you are free to post links to streaming trailers, and are often allowed to embed videos from official sites, in most cases you cannot upload a copyrighted video to a personal site without permission.
Check out websites such as Crackle.com, Spike.com, TrailerAddict.com and ReelzChannel.com. These independent websites have good selections and allow downloads. You can search by title or genre.
Search the site of any online vendor that offers content for MP3 players or smart phones. For example, Apple's official site includes a subsite for downloading free movie trailers to iTunes.

Hosting Sites That Offer Streaming Video CapabilitiesIn Feburary 2016 12,
In Feburary 2016 12,
The Host Gator Web-hosting company offers third-party, iframe/object-embed streaming on all its shared, dedicated and VPS servers. However, only the much-more expensive dedicated and VPS servers allow developers to stream live content, such as from a news feed or business conference. Prices for these servers range between $250 to $400. In addition, its shared servers do not support the streaming of any Flash content.
Go Daddy
Go Daddy's shared servers lack support for streaming live video, but they do support the embedding of video files from other sources, such as YouTube or VEOH. Its dedicated servers support all video content, and its servers are much less expensive than those from Host Gator. Keep in mind, however, that the servers include weaker processors, less RAM and a cap on bandwidth.
Cirtex Hosting
Dubbed a genuine video hosting service, Cirtex Hosting offers unlimited video streaming for a minimum of $2.49 per month. In fact, the company claims that one could potentially host a site just like YouTube on its servers. The only limit would be the bandwidth, which starts at 10 Mbps with shared servers and rises to 100 Mbps with dedicated servers.
Host Monster
Host Monster supports streaming video content that is either stored on one of its servers or streamed from a third-party website. The benefit of streaming from another site is that it won't tap into the server's bandwidth. Though the site claims to offer unlimited bandwidth, its up-time is not as high as that of Host Gator, Go Daddy and Cirtex.

How to Free Up Memory on iPod TouchesIn Feburary 2016 10,
In Feburary 2016 10,
Delete album artwork. Album artwork certainly makes your music experience pretty, but if you have a lot of songs on your iPod Touch all of those images can take up a lot of memory. To delete album artwork, connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Locate the song or album and select 'File,' then 'Get Info.' Click the album artwork icon, press the 'Delete' key and click the 'OK' button.
Check for large files. Extremely long audio files, such as concerts and continuous mixes, can take up a lot of memory on your iPod Touch -- sometimes several-hundred megabytes for one file. When your iPod Touch is plugged into your computer, select 'View' from the top menu bar in iTunes, then select 'Viewing Options.' Check the 'Size' box and click the 'OK' button. In your iPod Touch music library, located in the 'Music' link under your iPod's device icon, scroll to the right until you see the 'View' heading. Click it to view files in order of their size. Delete any large audio files that you don't listen to on a regular basis.
Delete apps you don't use. It's easy to acquire hoards of apps on your iPod Touch, particularly because there are so many available that are either free or 99 cents. Take a hard look at your apps and decide which ones you don't really use. To delete an app, press and hold the app icon with your finger until it wobbles and a black 'X' appears. Tap the black 'X,' then tap 'Delete' when prompted by your iPod Touch. The apps will still be available in iTunes on your computer.
Transfer photos to your computer. If you use the cameras on your iPod Touch frequently, your Photo Library can accumulate a lot of images taken with them, which can take up a lot of space. On Mac OS X, you can use Image Capture -- located in your 'Applications' folder -- to transfer photos from your iPod Touch to your Mac. In Windows, click the 'Start' menu and select 'Portable Devices.' Right-click where it shows your iPod Touch and select 'Import pictures and videos.' Delete the photos in your Photo Library on your iPod Touch.

The Best Practices for Email Attachment SizeIn Feburary 2016 05,
In Feburary 2016 05,
There are many free email accounts provided by companies with a large Internet presence. These free email accounts include Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail and Gmail. Each free account limits the total attachment size for every email. Hotmail allows a maximum of 10MB to be attached to every email message. Yahoo allows 20MB and Gmail allows 25MB. Attachment sizes should work within each mail system's guidelines. Failure to do so will result in emails not being sent.
Encoding of Attachments
Free email accounts go through a process of encoding. This means that adjustments are made to the files so that other mail systems can read them. The result is adds an additional 33 percent to the original size of the files. Attachment limits provided by free email accounts also include the encoding.Example:
Yahoo Attachment Limit: 20MB
Attachment Size Before Coding on Yahoo: 15MB
Attachment Size After Coding: 20MBIn the above example, Yahoo limits attachments to a total size of 20MB. A file that is 15MB, after coding, is 20MB. In the case of Yahoo accounts, 15MB is the actual attachment limit.
Attachment Limits on Self-Hosting Accounts
Website owners that have accounts with Internet hosting companies also have access to email accounts. These email accounts can be accessed within the cpanel. The cpanel is also known as the control panel and all website additions and adjustments can be made from there.Email accounts through self-hosting companies also have limits on attachments. The size limit varies with each company. Go Daddy has a total attachment limit of 20MB per email, Bluehost has 10MB and Dreamhost has a limit of 40MB.
Understanding Receiving Limits
Even though some mail systems can send larger attachments than others, it isn’t the only factor that limits attachment size. Attachment limits depends on how much the recipient can receive. Example:
Gmail send limit: 25MB
Gmail receive limit: 25MB
Hotmail send limit: 10MB
Hotmail receive limit: 10MBIn the above example, a Gmail account sending to a Hotmail account cannot have an attachment size larger than 10MB. Even though a Gmail account can send 25MB, the email is limited by the recipient’s ability to receive attachments. On many mail systems, the receiving limit corresponds to the sending limit. In the above example, a Gmail account could send 25MB in some situations. This depends on the recipient also having a Gmail account or being able to receive 25MB.
Splitting Larger Files
Some files have sizes that exceed what is allowed by a mail system. One way to get around this is by using a program that will split the file (see Resources). The program takes a large file and splits it into several, smaller sizes. This allows a person to send a large file in smaller portions and to attach it on several emails. The person receiving the files would then re-merge the split files. Before the recipient receives a split file, they need to be informed before hand. If the recipient doesn't have the same file splitting software, they won't be able merge the files back together. Alternatively, the sender can use a compression or zipping program to shrink the file size and send it as an attachment. The recipient would then need to expand the attachment or zipped file.

What Is a Windows Search Protocol Host?In Feburary 2016 05,
In Feburary 2016 05,
The Windows Search utility has three elements: Search Indexer, Search Protocol Host and Search Filter Host. The task of Search Protocol Host is to coordinate protocol handler programs. Each store type has a different handler. There is a File System Protocol Handler, an Outlook Protocol Handler and an IE Cache/History Protocol Handler for Internet Explorer history files.
Versions
Windows Search 4.0 is the successor to Windows Desktop Search. The utility is also known as 'Instant Search.' An earlier version was called 'Windows Index Search.' Windows Search maintains an index of all files on the computer's hard drives to facilitate speedy search results.
Location
Windows Search Protocol Host is implemented by a program called SearchProtocolHost.exe. This, together with the other programs used to run Windows Search, is found in the System32 directory of the Windows directory on the C: drive.

I Could Not Connect to the Server in FileZilla 1and1In Feburary 2016 03,
In Feburary 2016 03,
Users often confuse hosting accounts with FTP accounts. You enter the username and password for your hosting account to access the website control panel on 1and1. This username and password is not even relevant to FileZilla. Instead, you need to retrieve the details for your FTP account to use FileZilla. You get an FTP username and password in the welcome email when you join. If you no longer have access to this email, get your FTP username from inside the panel and set up a new password.
Account Management
Access your admin control panel by logging into your hosting account. If you have more than one domain, choose which one you want to administer. Select 'FTP Accounts' in the 'Webspace' menu to see your username -- this is the username that you enter into FileZilla to upload files to your website. However, because the password is hidden even in your own account for security reasons, you need to create a new password if you do not know it. Click 'Edit' to see the option to create a new password. Write this and the username down on a piece of paper to make sure you are using the correct account details in FileZilla. You can also click 'New User' to set up additional usernames and passwords for FTP purposes.
Establishing a Connection
Now that you are sure you have the correct username and password for your FTP account, you need to enter the correct information in FileZilla. Open the software, then click the 'Site Manager' icon, which has an image of two computers, near the top. In the window that pops up, select 'New Site' and enter any name for this site, then enter your website address; however, do not enter the 'http' and 'www' portions of the address -- for example, enter 'MySite.com,' not 'www.MySite.com.' Leave the port as '21' and the server type as 'FTP,' but change the 'Logontype' option to 'Normal.' Enter the FTP username and password that you've retrieved from the 'FTP Accounts' section in your 1and1 hosting account. Click 'Save and Exit.' To establish a connection, click the 'Site Manager' icon again, select your website and click 'Connect.'
Other Troubleshooting
If you are still experiencing connection problems, you may have an issue with the FileZilla FTP utility. Because this is free software, download another copy from FileZilla's website. If you still cannot connect with a new copy, 1and1 may be having a server issue; call 866-991-2631 to check the server's status. Another option is to try another free FTP client to isolate whether the problem is FileZilla or 1and1. Examples include Core FTP and Go FTP.

How to Connect to WiFi at Starbucks for FreeIn Feburary 2016 03,
In Feburary 2016 03,
As of publication, Starbucks is in the process of switching from AT&T to Google Wi-Fi services. Locations still using AT&T offer Wi-Fi with the SSID 'attwifi,' while Google locations use the SSID 'Google Starbucks.' Even if it has 'Starbucks' in the name, don't connect to any other networks you find in the area -- they aren't legitimate Starbucks connections.
Windows Public Wi-Fi Settings
Unsecured public Wi-Fi like that offered by Starbucks requires some careful settings within Windows to protect your system. When setting up the connection, choose the
Public network option and select the
Turn off network discovery and
Turn off file and printer sharing radio buttons to switch off all file and device-sharing options in order to limit access to your computer's files on this network.
Virtual Private Networks
Setting up a virtual private network is a good way to prevent your connection from eavesdropping. VPNs create encrypted connections between two points on a network, namely your computer and a website. Without the VPN's decryption key, it's extremely difficult for hackers to decode any data they intercept. SecurityKISS, CyberGhost VPN and VPNBook are all free VPN services that offer a secure, encrypted connection between your computer and online resources like websites and chat clients. These services are generally very similar, differing primarily in how they encrypt the connections and how much data can be transmitted over the connection per day.
Secure Website Connections
Secure websites are also very useful for preventing information theft while on Starbucks Wi-Fi. You can tell websites are secure by checking the URL for a 'HTTPS' prefix, as well as a little lock icon in the address bar. Chrome, Firefox and Opera also have extensions like HTTPS Everywhere, SSL Enforcer and ForceHTTPS, which automatically enable security features like HTTPS or Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption or block sites without these features. While relying completely on these extensions and HTTPS-enabled websites won't guarantee safety using a public connection, they can be useful tools when used with other safety measures.
Sensitive Information
Generally, you should never use public Wi-Fi to look at sensitive information like bank accounts or credit cards. Even taking all the precautions you can, there is still a chance of data interception and identity theft. Access sensitive information only on trusted, secured networks.
Other Safety Tips
Never access public Wi-Fi connections without up-to-date anti-virus and anti-malware software, and, whenever possible use two-factor authentication. Whenever you're not using the connection, switch your computer to airplane mode or switch off Wi-Fi to prevent unauthorized access via the network. Also, delete the connection from your connection list when you're done, unless you use the Wi-Fi at that particular Starbucks frequently.
