By flying American Airlines you accrue free miles in your AAdvantage account. Miles accumulate with every flight taken; the number of miles earned corresponds to the length of the flight, class of service and fare paid. American has partnered with other airlines as well, so you can earn miles while flying on international carriers, including AirBerlin, British Airways, FinnAir and Japan Airlines.
Accept Miles from Transfers
When a friend or family member has AAdvantage miles that he doesn't plan to use, he can share or gift those miles to you. It will not cost you anything, though a transaction fee is assessed to the account holder who is giving you the miles. You cannot accept more than 100,000 miles from any one account in a single year.
Earn Miles While Traveling
American Airlines partners with a number of hotels and rental car agencies to help you accumulate AAdvantage miles for free. Stay at Hilton properties, including Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites, or hotels belonging to the Intercontinental Hotel Group, which include the Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and Crowne Plaza. Marriott Hotel and Starwood Hotel brands are also eligible. Provide your AAdvantage number at the time of reservation or check-in, and points will be converted to miles, then added to your account. The number of miles you receive depends on your length of stay and class of room. You can earn an average of 50 miles per day with car rental companies, including Budget, National, Avis, Thrifty and Alamo.
Earn Miles while Shopping
Shopping and dining with the right retailers and restaurants results in free AAdvantage miles. Make purchases through the American Airlines SkyMall or online through the eShopping Mall. Miles are rewarded when you order flowers online and buy products from retailers such as Bose.
AAdvantage Passport Challenge
Following American Airlines on Facebook and answering random trivia questions in the Passport Challange can earn you free AAdvantage points. Play to earn points, then share the trivia questions and your answers with members of your social network to receive additional miles. Just visit the American Airlines Facebook page and provide your name and AAdvantage number.

How to Plan a Summer BBQIn Feburary 2016 27,
In Feburary 2016 27,
Pick the right day. BBQ's are best for end of the week gatherings or weekend days. Pick a time when most people will be available.
Create your guest list. If you've had lots of parties, you know that guest lists tend to expand. If you invite one friend, you have to invite others and so on. Pick compatible people from various sources. Don't just invite people from work. If you do invite people from work, limit the number so that they don't cluster and only talk about work. Diversify. Include neighbors and family members and new acquaintances. Introduce your guests to one another so they can mingle and talk.
Make a party CD. It's a good idea to have all of the music planned ahead of time so that you aren't distracted by choosing CDs and changing the tunes. Making MP3 CDs is great for parties because you can fit 8 hours of music on one CD.
Plan the food. Get a fairly accurate head count so that you know how much of everything to buy. As you invite people, assign them a type of food (salad, dessert, drinks) to bring. Plan for about 20 percent more than you expect. Have a variety of items on hand to BBQ for different tastes. If some people are vegetarian, have some gardenburgers to toss on the grill.
Make sure the food is safe. Meat and mayo based products can't be left for more than 4 hours without refrigeration. No food should be uncovered or in the sun. Barbecue meat to at least medium. Keep an eye on people who over-indulge in alcohol. Have a first aid kit and fire extinguisher on hand for emergencies.

How to Word a Double Baby Shower InvitationIn Feburary 2016 23,
In Feburary 2016 23,
Start the invitation by immediately letting guests know they are being invited to a double baby shower. A Noah's Ark 'two by two' theme will work perfectly and be very cute, as well. Use very clear wording to communicate the double event, such as 'You're invited to celebrate with Lisa and Jane, as they are both expecting!' Use the family last name, if it is the same for both babies, or list all of the expecting parents' names.
Reiterate that the shower is for two expecting moms more than once in the invitation. For example, on the inside you can add a verse such as, 'Bottles, diapers and laundry in a heap... Lisa and Jane will soon have no sleep!'
Inform guests of the gender of both babies, if known. For example, 'Oh boy! Oh boy! Lisa and Jane are both having boys! We're 'expecting' you to join us!'
Opt for a unified cover with separate inside information. For example, the front can say, 'Two bundles of joy are on their way, so please reserve this special day.' Then, use each of the inside panels of the invitation to give separate details. For example, on the left side you could write 'Tea parties, baby dolls and dress up clothes, Jane's having a girl who'll wear ribbons and bows!' On the right side, you could say 'Trains, motorcycles and automobiles, Lisa's having a boy who'll love cool toys with wheels!' The lower half of both panels can share the day, time and RSVP information for the shower.
Write out all of the information you'd like to include on the invitation, including registry information for both mothers, if available. If you only have registry information for one mother, do not include it. Everything has to be treated equally for both. Once you have the invitation written in a way that you like, order or print the actual invitations.

How to Word a Lunch Party InvitationIn Feburary 2016 13,
In Feburary 2016 13,
Place a heading to announce the lunch party at the top of the invitation. Set the theme and show guests the reason for the gathering right away. For example, if you are hosting a patio luncheon, your heading might say, 'Gather with us amongst the spring blossoms for a light luncheon.' If you are hosting a family reunion and serving a lunch meal, your heading might say, 'Please join us for a family reunion luncheon.'
Skip one or two lines.
Add the date and the time of the lunch on the next line. If your luncheon has a definite ending time, include this time also.
Place the location where you will hold the lunch on the next line.
Give other pertinent party information to your guests on the next lines. If you want specific attire, specify by writing, 'Summer casual attire' or 'Formal afternoon attire.' If you want to avoid gifts, write, 'No gifts, please.' If you expect your guests to bring a dish to pass or beverages, write, 'Please bring a salad to pass' or 'Please bring your own beverages.'
Request an RSVP from your guests by adding, 'RSVP requested,' and then provide your telephone number or email address to receive the RSVPs.

How to Embed TTF Fonts in CSSIn Feburary 2016 07,
In Feburary 2016 07,
Open the HTML file for the Web page where you wish to display the embedded font. For websites or templates using a separate header file, open that instead. Use a code-editing program such as Notepad++, jEdit or BBEdit. Look for the following line of code in the top of your HTML file:
Look at the name of the .CSS file referenced in the
tag and open that file in your code editor. If you see no
tag, create one and then create a blank .CSS file.
Add the following code at the top of your .CSS file:@font-face {font-family: 'Font Name Here';src: URL('fontfile.ttf') format ('ttf');}Give a font family name to your font. You can use any name, but stick with a name that is easy to type and remember. Type the full or relative path to your .TTF file between the parentheses after 'URL.'
Use the embedded font as you would use a Web-safe font such as Arial, Helvetica or Georgia. Here is an example:h1 {font-family: 'Font Name Here', 'Another Font', generic;}The above code makes all tags use your embedded font. Should the embedded font not work, the browser will use 'Another Font' for level-one headers. In the case 'Another Font' does not exist on the user's computer, the browser goes to the last font. Use a generic family name here such as 'serif' and 'sans-serif.'
Upload your font using an FTP tool. If you do not use FTP, you can also log into your Web hosting control panel and then navigate to your file management tool. Most Web hosts offer this tool, which allows you to upload a few files at a time through your browser.
