Visit your local media's websites. These include, but are not limited to, news stations, newspaper websites, local networking websites and even local companies.
Skim through the websites in order to see if they offer local chat rooms for people in the area. If they do not, move onto step 3.
Search online for 'free local chat rooms in (your city).'
Visit Friend Finder (see resources) and type in your area code. You will have to sign up with the website in order to use these chat rooms, but you may chat for free while your e-mail is verified. In order to access all features of the site, you must verify your e-mail.
Check out Yahoo! (see resources). Visit the chat section and then click 'Regional.' Expand the regional directory in order to see countries. Choose your country, then state or province, and from there, choose your city and finally, a chat room.

Start construction of your house within the requisite time period. Usually, the time period for starting or finalizing construction of your home is between six months and one year.
